Forbes Editors:
In response to the excellent article "Insurance: Healthy
Alternatives" by Tara Weiss on 7/25/06, I wish to mention that you
left out what I believe is one of the most important resources in
the short term medical insurance industry. I am the founder of
Freedom Benefits Association that is one of the nation's largest
supporters of short term medical insurance enrollment.
Freedom Benefits, combined with its affiliates and subsidiaries, is the fourth largest online
enroller for short term
medical insurance in the U.S. and is only 1/20 the size of industry
leader ehealthinsurance.com. But the key difference worth noting in
your article is that Freedom Benefits provides personal enrollment
assistance for all health plans, not just the ones available for
sale by the Web site's sponsors. This means that every US resident
in all 50 states plus DC can get help finding the right coverage,
regardless of their health history or eligibility for plans listed
for sale on commercial insurance Web sites. Our reputation for
serving diabetic clients, for example, is unmatched in the industry.
This wider range of service, we believe, has enabled MedSave.com to
more effectively address a more diverse customer base of online
health insurance shoppers.
Freedom Benefits has been in operation since 1997 and has helped more
than 80,000 people find low cost medical insurance in all states
nationwide.
