Health care reform in a nutshell

It doesn’t matter whether we call it the Affordable Care Act or Obamacare, or Trumpcare, or the Republican Plan – the difficult issues and available solutions are the same.

We can’t afford the solutions we want and we don’t have the political will to implement the solutions that we can afford.

I’ve reported on the practical issues surrounding health care reform for various professional associations and small business groups for more than 30 years. During that time I authored more than 300 articles, newspaper columns and blog posts. Add to that another two dozen live or recorded presentations. The story of health care reform in the U.S. is a decades-long saga without much good news to report. Yet the underlying plot has not changed at any time during that period. I doubt that we will see anything other than rebranding over the next few years ahead.
