How to vote for Bernie Sanders if you live in New Jersey

If you want to support Bernie Sanders for President then it is important to vote for him in the state’s primary election June 7, 2016.

New jersey has a closed primary election so you must be registered Democrat or undeclared by April 13th, 2016. If registered as undeclared political party you can elect to vote in the Democratic primary election at the poll on the primary election day.

New Jersey allows mail-in ballots for anyone. So if, like me, you want to handle this important task in advance of election day, just request a mail-in ballot at http://www.nj.gov/state/elections/voting-information.html#vbm

If you are not currently registered to vote:
See http://nj.gov/state/elections/voting-information.html

If you want to change political parties:
Many New Jersey voters may wish to change political parties to Democrat so that they can vote for Bernie Sanders in the primary election. A registered voter currently affiliated with a political party who wishes to change their party affiliation must file a Political Party Affiliation Declaration Form 55 days before a Primary Election.

The Party Affiliation Declaration Form is at http://nj.gov/state/elections/voting-information-party-declaration-forms.html

You can print and complete the Political Party Affiliation Declaration Form and mail or deliver to the Commissioner of Registration in your county or you can also file it with your municipal clerk. These cards are also available at your local Commissioner of Registration Office.

The Commissioner of Registration cannot accept faxed copies or an electronic transmission of forms, since an original signature is required.

All voter forms are available in English and in Spanish.
