Support for immigration reform

I am committed to support the right of individuals to travel freely across political borders. The U.S. Constitution ensures equal representation for all individuals living in the United States, regardless of immigration status. Noncitizens lack the right to vote in federal elections but they have the right to have their voices heard by their representatives in Congress. Congress should not pass laws that discriminate based on a person’s place of birth. I am pleased to live in a sanctuary city and a community that respects the rights of all people equally. I reject those who raise an attitude of intolerance and bigotry and attempt to enforce laws that treat noncitizens differently than citizens. I support nonviolent resistance to broken U.S. immigration policy and urge Congress to remove the self-imposed legal barriers to immigration.
