New approach to break the health care reform impasse

Patient Freedom Act of 2017

A new bill to break the health care impasse is introduced today. WSJ reports “Sen. Collins, a Maine Republican, will answer that question publicly Monday when she introduces a bill with Louisiana Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy aimed at breaking the party’s logjam over the repeal of the Affordable Care Act with a measure turning over the biggest decisions over the law’s future to the states”.

I think it’s a great idea to turn health care to the states as long as individuals have the right to shop across state lines. The 50 states would certainly offer far more competition than what’s available today on Healthcare.gov by a handful of companies.
