Still have W2s and 1099s to file?

The tax filing deadline for 1099s and W2s is normally January 31.

Today is the day that your 2015 W2 and 1099 forms should be in the mail. This year (2015) the IRS penalties for non-filers is increased. For most small businesses this has become an automated online accounting service that hardly requires any additional effort. If you are reading this and still haven’t met this requirement, then this suggests a weakness in your accounting system that could be addressed to prevent the same thing from happening next year.

Consider that the cost of compliance is less than the cost of the penalties that are increasingly likely to be caught by the IRS. The rules for next year’s filings are already published by IRS.

If you are in a panic about meeting your 2015 requirements, it can still be accomplished today and postmarked to meet the deadline. I offer the service under a flat fee concierge advisory program on a one time basis if there is no ongoing bookkeeping or accounting arrangement.
