Q: I was just declined for short term health insurance coverage, but it would be helpful to know why...I'm not sure what it means that I (or my spouse?) do not meet eligibility requirements.
A: A decline simply means that you answered “yes” to one or more of the health questions on the application. Health insurance applications are designed so that coverage s only issued if all of the questions are answered “no”. The health conditions listed in those questions screen for each health plan’s eligibility requirements. For alternate health plans that will accept you with a specific health condition, see the article “Short Term Medical Insurance for Specific Situations” at http://FreedomBenefits.netarticles/Short-term-medical-insurance-for-special-situations.htm.
