Q: I am an insulin dependant diabetic and have no health insurance. I followed your advice to try to get insurance through the VA Insurance Department Web site but found nothing. Can you help?
A: Yes, you are not alone; we receive many similar requests from Virginia residents. You are probably eligible for the guaranteed issue HIPAA plan in your area. Please fill out an online request form with your contact information at FreedomBenefits.net to help make it easier for us to get started. The adviser fee is $150, completely separate from the insurance. The enrollment package for guaranteed issue insurance will be mailed to the address directly from the state-designed insurer in your area and we can help with any other questions at that point. (Prior to your receipt of that package, we have no other information available).
