Q: Will the Inbound Immigrant insurance cover pre-existing conditions such as asthma or emphysema?
A: No, the exclusion of coverage for pre-existing medical conditions is the same for other types of individual medical insurance policies. The unique strength of this product is that people with pre-existing medical conditions are accepted for coverage regardless of their medical history. In contrast, most US domestic health insurance policies have medical eligibility requirements. The coverage is specifically priced to be affordable even to a person on minimum wage. The updated brochure for this product was published in Spanish and can be downloaded from http://FreedomBenefits.net/inbound-immigrant.htm Health insurance policies that may be purchased online are not intended to provide coverage for pre-existing medical conditions but some people have used Basic Health Insurance at http://www.basichealthinsurance.net/ that offers some minimal coverage for pre-existing medical conditions after a policy has been in force for 6 months
