Q: Some time ago I applied for a policy through the Benefit House Web Site. I was wondering the status of that policy?

A: OnlineAdviser service (my affiliation) supports many of the online benefits enrollment sites but we are unfamiliar with this Web site. The larger enrollment firms like FreedomBenefits.net and all of the other OnlineAdviser sites confirm applications received within one business day. A long delay in response probably indicates a problem. We suggest that if you experience a delay of longer than one day following receipt of an application, then follow-up with a telephone call. If you paid by check and that check remains uncashed after a long time, you should assume that there is no insurance in force and that this is possible "lost in the mail". For faster and safer results in the future, please use the direct online enrollment links at FreedomBenefits.net or any other Web site with the "OnlineAdviser logo. You can be assured of immediate electronic confirmation of your application and coverage status.
