Q: I need supplemental accident insurance for my son at summer sports camp but I do not understand how the pricing works. We have a high deductible health insurance and this policy will pay even if the regular insurance deductible has not been met, right?
A: The price depends on the amount of coverage. You can select $2,500, $5,000, $7,500 or $10,000 of insurance. You may wish to consider the $5,000 at about $40 per month that covers all members of the family because this is approximately equal to the deductible of your regular health insurance policy. Other prices are: $2,500 coverage = $29.95 per month $5,000 coverage = $39.95 per month $7,500 coverage = $49.95 per month $10,000 coverage = $59.95 per month Rates are slightly lower for single coverage if you do not need coverage for all family members. Benefits association membership is required so this membership fee may increase the total cost if you are not already a member. This policy pays regardless of whether our other policy deductible has been met and benefits are paid directly to you rather than the medical service provider. Other details are listed online on the quote/enrollment page.
