Q: I was looking at your website at some supplemental products, such as BasicHealth Insurance.; ValueHealth, and ValueMed, and ValueHospital. Can any of them only be used with each other, or can any of them be used with some other insurance, such as my high-deductible Blue Cross? Also, can you just get one of those without any of the others? In other words, some seem to duplicate services, as each might have a doctor pay or prescription pay. In other words, I am interested in the ValueMed and Value Health to go with my high-deductible, no copay, BlueCross/BlueShield. Will this work ok? And it doesn't matter where I live or what doctor or hospital I go to? Just get a bill and send it to ValueMed or ValueHealth and get reimbursed? Any special parameters I have to meet?
A: Yes all of these were intended to be used together with Blue Cross or some other insurance, although there is no requirement to use other insurance. Each policy can be mixed and matched with any other or used alone - it is completely up to you. The policies pay stated cash benefits to you regardless of any other insurance so you can ultimately control the overall amount of health insurance coverage for treatment with any doctor or hospital. Overlap does not matter; each policy pays as stated. See the other articles for more information on these supplemental insurance policies.
