Certified Public Accounting firms may undergo a process known as peer review. This process is designed to ensure that highest level professional standards are upheld. The process, in our case, could, in the future, be governed by the standards of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants or, more likely, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Peer review may be performed for an engagement (for example, the audit of XYZ Corporation financial statements) or a system (for example, the integrity of secure document portal system of ABC Accountants).
Tony Novak Certified Public Accountant was formed in December 2019 and has not yet completed its first planned peer review that is expected to be an engagement review. We are registered with the AICPA peer review service as required.
More information on the peer review process for the public is available at https://www.aicpa.org/interestareas/peerreview/community/firmsearch/forthepublic.html.
