My tomato garden faced unprecedented hardships this year. We had multiple salt water floods throughout the month of July and then last weekend a strong wind lifted our camper into the air and dropped it on its side right on top of the garden!

I’ve been considering the power of nature and our relatively futile effort to control it. I see the evidence in my neighborhood of ruins of buildings from generations before us who tried and failed to control this power. Living here on the Delaware Bay has caused me to re-evaluate basic concepts like “house” and “ownership”. All are flimsy beliefs in comparison to nature’s power.
