Acronis was once considered to be at the top of the backup services for retail PC customers. Then the products and the issues they were designed to address became too complicated. (See the screenshot below as an example of how it became ridiculously difficult for an average retail customer to use the product. Any product that requires this many pages of documents of “dos and don’t” and “user-generated tips” will not likely be successful in the retail market, IMO). The company’s products seemed to fall out of favor and I’ve read some negative feedback on social media over the past year. But now the company released a new Windows 10 compatible version with an improved online user interface that initially appears to be much better. I am convinced to give Acronis another try.
