Today’s Wall Street Journal carried an editorial on a simple solution to ease the paid of high health care expenses for some people: ease the restrictions on non-qualifying health insurance like the type sold at Freedom Benefits.
Popular plans like short-term medical insurance and limited benefit or mini-med insurance do not meet the requirements of the Affordable Care Act, but do offer greater value for some applicants. The Trump administration is empowered to ease the restrictions on this type of coverage to allow it to expand to a greater portion of people who may welcome a wider choice of coverage options.
This proposed solution falls in line with previously discussed options promoted by president Trump during his election campaign.
