I just set up and tested the internal “Pay Bills Online” feature of QuickBooks. Actually this is an integration between QuickBooks and Bill.com.
The benefit is that bills can be paid without leaving the accounting software. (Prior to this I had to pay bills on my bank web site and then enter the payments manually into QuickBooks or wait until the transactions were reported by the bank.
The cost is $10 per month plus $1.50 per billed check or $.50 for an electronic payment. Not exactly cheap but it does save money if you calculate the savings in labor, checks, envelopes and postage costs.
So far, so good. I’ll update this post if I find anything notable.
