We all know that business and technology are in a constant state of change. Certainly the small business accounting industry has seen plenty of change in recent years. After years of supporting the transition of private businesses and nonprofits’ accounting platform to QuickBooks Online as the core technology platform, I am withdrawing that universal endorsement.
The issues are complex and vary among users. We most often discuss privacy, security, value and features. Two concerns that apply to most QuickBooks Online business organizations are increasing fees combined with data limits, and the cross marketing based on client data.
For some users, this continues to be the preferred accounting platform. For others, more efficient and less expensive options exist.
So this message is a ‘head’s up’ but not necessarily a call to action. I welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you to address any questions or concerns.
