The following four types of discounts are applied to the published tax preparation fees and are valid for both CPA prepared tax returns and self-prepared tax returns. (Follow those links for the published rates).
The discount will be listed on the bottom of the billing invoice. One discount is applied per client per year. If you qualify for more than one discount, use the largest one but not multiple. If I omit a discount, just let m know.
New CPA clients - $20 discount on first year fee for CPA-prepared returns with a base fee of $95 or $195.
New 1040.com clients - $10 rebate for first year fee for self-prepared tax returns with a base price of $19.95 or $39.95. The rebate is paid in May for tax returns filed by April 15. The request must be made when the tax return is submitted by forwarding a copy of the confirmation email to onlineadviser@live.com with the words "refund request" in the subject line.
Salem County and Cumberland County NJ veterans - 25% off published rate. Larger discounts based on need, up to and including no fee service may be offered on request primarily based on my available time.
Friends and family - Half of published rate. (The main purpose of this published policy is to avoid awkward conversations by simply setting an across-the-board policy for all of us).
General hardship assistance - My businesses have a history of offering assistance to the community whenever possible. We don't want to be in a position of saying "no" to a request for help based solely on a person's limited ability to pay. For tax service, assistance in limited primarily by available time. If you need tax help and don't have the ability to pay, please discuss this in advance before asking for regular service.
